The Problem

To Save an Unusual Project

The Problem

Look Behind the Scenes

  1. In the first diagram below all you can see are nice, neat, black "paid payments." Well, it does show at the very end that we are behind right now.
  2. But in the second diagram you can now see all the shaded gray areas that indicate DELINQUENCY. The truth is that we have been 30 to 90 days behind most of the time. What pain! Then, new "geysers" of debt every 90 days...

Heartache, strained faith, desperate prayer, miracles of God, your own generous help, dear reader  alt this is behind the scenes in the gray areas. But the end is near! We face NO further December payments, for example!

We then have only four payments leftif we can just finish this year. Right now (as I write, Nov. 27) we lack $80,000 for, the Sept. 1st payment. But in a few hours  Dec. 1st  we'll owe an additional $175,000, urgently to be paid by Jan. 1st.

The Solution: To Work out a Peculiar Faith

By a peculiar faith we believe:

The real problem we face is not how to GET but how to GIVE That is, if we can find out how to give more than we have given we believe we will receive more than we have received

What are we Now Giving?

1. Little things (for example)

  • we are now giving a place for 67 missionaries to work together, people from 64 different mission agencies. They are busy clarifying the exact remaining task.
  • we have given a strong foundation of mission understanding to 2,000 college students who have passed through this, campus. About half of these are now on the field or heading that way.
  • we are operating, incidentally, one of the nations largest M.A. programs in which we teach Americans how to teach English to speakers of other languages. This degree program now has the very 'highest certification given by the State of California.

2. The Big Thing

The greatest, gift we are giving is to Christian people who have in effect given up hope on the world and Missions, They have become fearful, pessimistic, distracted or even paralyzed by 'hopelessness. We are giving them HOPE.

Our greatest gift is thus the renewal of hope and meaning on a daily level invading the consciousness and reviving a sense of purpose through the Frontier Fellowship DAILY PRAYER GUIDE. Say, 'have you tried this yet? Daily inspiration is truly transforming!'  our greatest goal is to give new hope to one million people How? We are expecting the collaboration of 100 intermediate agencies and denominations! This will readily touch 50 people in 20,000 congregations. These organizations will give us the first $15 from individuals they reach (and 400,000 by next Sept will cover our biggest single payment).

Literally daily we receive reports of new, mounting. interest in this exciting nationwide extension of HOPE. This is our biggest gift.

DEAR READER, you too can give this priceless gift of new hope at Christmastime.

In giving this strange, wonderful gift, the more you give the more you have. You can give this 'hope to your own family, friends,. ..to members of your congregation. See how this works at the Chapel by the Sea (page 12). Note the new stirrings of mission interest among the burgeoning churches in Central America in the midst of guerrilla warfare (see pages 6 11) For precisely how you yourself can take part, take a close took at the bottom right of the order page on the back covert  and act!
