The Editorial of Ralph D. Winter Founder of the U.S. Center for World Mission Dear Friends, In just 15 minutes I have to jump into a car and race to the airport---I'm going to Thailand in a few hours, for 7 days. But, as usual, everything is packed and every page of this bulletin is finished, and I am typing the final touch on this page. (By tomorrow night, 70,000 copies of this bulletin should be back in our hands and on their way to the mailing service to be mailed out.) No, we have not fully assimilated the mighty acts of our God in the final weeks of 1987. Every penny that has come in has been paid out (that means about 7 million). Just about 1 million is still out in pledges that are gradually coming in. No, we are not now on easy street, we are simply no longer having to ask for financial help to meet property payments. With continued austerity we can avoid competing with other mission agencies for funds. It is as though before we were building a boat "out in the water", while now, with the help of thousands of alert, envisioned people, it is built and, if we paddle carefully, it won't sink. But, yes, positively, we are now going through an exciting reorganization for all-out mobilization for the overall cause, not just our campus. The TEN Regional Mobilizers Workshops may take us right into your territory (see page 6), and I do hope you can at least come for the rally and reception portion. How we thank you, each one, for your prayers and faithfulness across the years. Don't fall asleep now... With great gratitude, Ralph D. Winter [ FRONT PAGE ] [ MEET OUR STAFF ] [ USCWM ] [ SEARCH ] |
