MF Behind the Scenes

Exciting new plans for Mission Frontiers

MF Behind the Scenes

The potential is enormous. The possible impact is mind boggling. We are developing a bold new strategy to put Mission Frontiers into the hands of every mission and church leader in the world. I believe that the life changing message of reaching the unreached peoples contained in MF is helping to change the course of world evangelization. It is our goal to quickly move this process of change forward by making MF available to these mission and church leaders all over the world. We have made great progress in this direction over the last year. Our overseas mailing of MF has gone from 5,000 to 14,000 during this time.

There are limits, however, to what we can do from the United States. It costs about 10 times as much to mail something overseas as it does to mail inside the US. The only solution to this problem that will allow us to continue expanding the availability of the magazine is to have MF printed and mailed at various locations around the world. We currently send over 1,000 copies of MF to India. For the same cost of sending these 1,000 copies to India from the US, we can mail 10,000 within India.

We are now desiring to move ahead with this strategy in places like Africa and India. We know of 13,000 more church leaders in Africa to whom we want to send MF to, as soon as we can get it to them. The critical factors in the success of these expansion efforts are, as mentioned last time, shortages of staff and money. It takes people to manage a far flung network of printing and mailing coordinators and money to pay for printing and postage. Our resources of money and manpower are currently stretched to the max.

We need people who believe in the value and potential of Mission Frontiers to get behind our efforts to send MF to the tens of thousands of church and mission leaders around the world who could greatly benefit from the information contained in MF.

The last two issues of MF sent out to the 7,000 key Christian leaders, recently added to our list, have been very warmly received. One man from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia writes,

Dear Brother:

Thank you for sending me the Special Adopt-A-People issue of Mission Frontiers. I am already learning a lot from its contents. You asked me to let you know if I do not wish to continue receiving MF. You must be kidding. I want every issue of MF. May God bless richly all those who make MF possible.

Another mission leader from Singapore writes:

Dear Mr Wood:

I am most grateful to you and the US Center for World Mission that seeks to put Mission Frontiers into the hands of every mission leader in the world. Already I find the two issues that you have sent to me very valuable material. I am grateful to the AD2000 office for suggesting my name to you to be placed on your mailing list. Not only will this material be a blessing to our ministry, but it will certainly encourage and challenge us in our work.

It is very encouraging for me to know that Mission Frontiers has blessed the lives and ministries of those who have now begun receiving it for the first time. Yet we may not be able to continue sending it to these dear people or to all the ones we would like to minister to because we do not have the necessary funds or manpower to get it to them.

We would like you to be a partner with us in ministering to these leaders all over the world. We would like you to think of MF as not just another magazine, but as a ministry tool that is bringing results and is worthy of your support. We have been inviting our readers to participate with us in our efforts to mobilize the world- wide church by sending in $136.50 to cover the cost of sending MF to 70 other people for a year. This is only $11 a month. (See the Jan- Feb. 1993 MF on page 5 for further explanation.) Like every other ministry at the US Center, MF must receive the money it requires from those it blesses.

Just a handful of people have responded so far. Meet a few of the first ones to respond on page 8. (I am personally praying for 2,000 people to respond.)

This would provide enough money to expand the availability of MF overseas and set up a network of printing and mailing coordinators. I hope that you will prayerfully consider joining with us in the cause of communicating a vision for reaching the unreached with key Christian leaders all over the world.

The impact that MF is having can be seen in the letters we have received. This impact can be greatly expanded to minister to thousands more if we can receive the support of people who believe in the potential of this magazine.

I hope that you are becoming as excited as I am by the potential that this simple publication has to touch the lives of tens of thousands and mobilize them with a vision to reach the unreached peoples. There is no limit to the possibilities. I look forward to hearing from you.
