Dear Friends,

Can't you sense the quickening pace of history? Is the end of the story in sight? I think so. That is the upshot of our bulletin this time.

(Note: in this combined catalog/bulletin, Mission Frontiers begins on page 47, while the first 46 pages is an annual resource supplement.)

Each issue of Mission Frontiers tries to bring you insight and information which our daily papers gloss over. Our distribution center, the William Carey Library, holds in stock a thousand times more of the same, rare information. We try to refer to new items, books, pamphlets, video tapes, etc. as they come out. But each year we want to send you a current list of everything we have available.

Please understand: We are not trying to outdo anyone else. But, unfortunately, you will not find anywhere in the world the stockpile of mission related materials which you can find at the William Carey Library in Pasadena, California.

I am truly sorry to have to say that there really is no other catalog like this one. I wish there were. My mail brings me a number of different catalogs of excellent Christian books and materials. But specifically mission materials are seldom seen there - simply because few believers have room in their lives to be concerned about missions to people they can never see! As a result, the market for mission materials is very small. What a shame!

Thus, without competition -and without "half trying" (so to speak) - we have built the only missionmaterials center anything like this size.

Here and there you may find excellent "lists" of mission resources. But those lists basically tell you where to write. Or, they may only give the name of the publisher and not the publisher's address.

So, the unusual thing here is that virtually every single item you see in these pages is in stock in one single place. You can send just one order and get materials from nearly 100 sources. And, at very low prices.

But, the world goes on, this is not just a catalog you have in your hands. To try to keep up to date, see the special supplement edition of Mission Frontiers following page 46. I have some interesting things to add, and so do others. I'll continue this on page 48.
