This is an article from the November-December 1993 issue: Will We Fail Again?

Because You’re Praying..

Because You’re Praying..

This issue of Mission Frontiers we are acknowledging a number of items of intercession that have yielded notable fruit. Since there is only one page available these reports must be brief, yet they will convey the reality of our mighty God and the power of persistent prayer by His people. If you know of answers to the calendar prayers let us know! All correspondence should be marked Attention: USCWM Prayer Coordinator. Thanks!

AD2000 and Mission Frontiers

As you can see by the news in Mission Frontiers there is significant progress being made by the AD2000 and Beyond Movement. One way this is being facilitated is an answer to another prayer - for increased readership for MF. Although there was some overlap AD2000 recently gave MF a list of 7,000 key leaders from around the world. By sending MF to them, it will enable the movement to provide key information to their constituents without the cost of printing and mailing.

A Praying Pastor

A pastor recently sent a fax to the Center to encourage us and let us know that he was utilizing the calendar in his daily prayers. He also wanted to inform us that God was answering prayer (see day 28) for students on a nearby campus to begin praying for revival and world evangelization .

Increased Help

More staff and/or volunteers are joining our existing regional offices thanks to your prayers! The Eastern, Southeastern, Gateway, El Paso, and DC offices have all seen help come on board since we began to pray for this.

Regional Mobilization

Planning for new mobilization offices has begun in Oklahoma City, Pittsburgh, and Atlanta, and Area Reps have been established in San Jose and Gilroy, CA; Dallas; the southern tip of Texas; and Charlotte, NC. Via networking and mobilization strategies these offices and reps will help churches and fellowships to catch, keep and obey a vision for world evangelization. Is a team networking and mobilizing in your city? Have you started praying yet?

Networking

Prayer for networking between the USCWM and like-minded ministries has yielded significant fruit through the formation of the Mission Mobilization Resource Network of the AD2000 movement in the U.S.. Periodic, national and regionally oriented meetings so far have brought together representatives from ACMC, AIMS, Caleb Resources, USCWM, C&MA, AAPC, OMF, the Missionary Church, and EV Free. Plans are being made for a national mobilizers track to be held during the two national ACMC conferences slated for next year.

Concerts of Prayer

Dave Bryant reports that telephone, mail and fax inquiries from local pastors and lay leaders increased four times during 1992. This year, so far, David has helped to pull together three national prayer movements in Japan, with day-long pastors' prayer conferences and evening COP prayer rallies in five sites, from Tokyo to Osaka.. On June 12, in 300 cities in the US alone, "Marches for Jesus" took place, each ending with a Concert of Prayer and the challenge to launch prayer movements for awa-kening and world evangelization.

AAP International

As reported in the last issue the Adopt-A-People strategy is being implemented worldwide. Mexico, Guatemala, Brazil, New Zealand, Korea and India are all moving ahead with their plans for involvement. Prayer will be the key to seeing many other countries develop national strategies. If you are from a country without an Adopt-A- People national strategy, it would be strategic to pray daily for this request.

Adopt-A-People Campaign

Over the past year an average of fifty information requests per week have come by mail or phone from individuals and churches on how to adopt unreached people groups. Future follow-up will reveal information on the status of many of these requests, whether they have officially adopted a people or not.

ACMC

ACMC reported their best year ever with over 5,000 attending their conferences nationwide, representing some 1,000 churches.

Headquarters Staff

Lack of staff is till a struggle yet new candidates are coming into the pipeline as possible future staff. Dr. Winter recently received a new assistant as a family of seven arrived from West Virginia. Also a seasoned missionary/mobilizer/mission pastor and his wife are in the process of coming on board.

New Perspectives Classes

Eighty locations will hold the Perspectives class this year and close to three thousand students will take the class in the U.S. alone. This is twice the number of classes held in 1990! Though this is a praise report it is also an opportunity to urge more prayer and faith for the sustaining of the Perspectives HQ staff. They are quite in need of additional help.

In Conclusion...

If you have never taken the time to copy or cut out the prayer page from a past issue of MF then take the time now! Don't put it off. Put it on your refrigerator door (where you obviously will see it every day) and join those of us who believe that these ministries are only effective as they are properly covered in prayer.
