Ed: A few months ago the U.S. Center for World Mission received a letter from Doug and Joanne, who were soon to be marriad.. This engaged couple told us that their wedding Invitation, sent to many friends and relatives, was no ordinary one! The invitation read. In part:

We recognize that gift gIving is a wedding tradition. The primary gift you can give us is your presence at our celebration.

We ask as well the tradition of giving gifts around which a couple can build their home and marriage. Far us, this tradition includes our concern for the world's people who have not yet heard of Jesus Christ. A welcome gift to us would be a donation sent to the U.S. Center for World Mission (a Christian organizatlon seeking to reach the 'hidden' or untouched people groups of the world). Gifts sent on our behalf should be sent to the U.S. center for World Mission, 1605 Elizabeth St., Pasadena, CA 91104.

By the time we went to press with this Issue of Mission Frontiers more than 60 of Doug and Joanne's friends and relatives had combined to contribute over $1000 to the U.S. Center. We at the Center give a heart-felt THANK YOU to Doug and Joanne, now married, and to those who gave on their behalf.

Dear Mrs. Winter:

I fuel recently read your book Once More Around Jericho I had to write you and tell you a little about what your prayers did for me during that time. During 1976 and 1977 1 was a part of the cult you shared the campus with, although I wasn't really aware of your presence.

I was so hungry for God and was looking everywhere for him. I had not found him with the cult and was more confused than ever. I felt that my lack of communion with God was because I needed to become more 'enlightened.' so I persisted and stayed with Summit Lighthouse.

I now realise after reading your book how I came to be liberated from this group. It was the power of daily prayer that must have been covering' the campus and running 'interference' with Satan's plans.

Stories that my grandmother told me about Jesus when I was little (I only saw her 3 times in my life before she died), daily began to come into my mind. I compared these with what I was seeing and absenting. Disbelief as to the validity of what I was being taught settled in. I left the group suddenly and disappeared from than without telling anyone sly plans. I feared for my life  spiritual and physical.

Later, I famed the Nazarene Church and came to know Jesus Christ as my Savior. The years with Christ have passed with much joy and communion and growth. I am now a missionary with . . . We provide shortterm opportunities to lay and medical people for service overseas. Mexico and here in the United States.

Praise the bard for his abundant love. You and your husband and all the staff are doing a mighty work through the Lord. Enclosed is a Founder's check. I will try to send more from time to time as the Lord provides.

In His Service,

(The name and mission have been omitted for the protection of this person. Please pray for others still under the "influence" of Summit Lighthouse International.)
