NOTES:
- The selected list of unreached peoples called "the Joshua Project 2000 list" includes those with more than 10,000 individuals, less than 5 percent Christian and less than 2 percent evangelical. The peoples on the Joshua Project list are defined ethno-linguistically, meaning that language is the primary factor in distinquishing peoples. Religion, culture, caste, socio-economic levels, etc. are not factors in defining a people on this list. As new information becomes available the list is being updated. This in no way implies that these peoples have been reached or that the task is even close to being "done" among these peoples. From the beginning of the launch of the Joshua Project 2000 in December 1995, the goal has been to see, at a minimum, a church planting team and a church planting effort resulting in a life-giving church of at least 100 believers in one or more reproducing fellowships among every people on the Joshua Project 2000 list.
- The purpose of these maps is to show Joshua Project group data. Most of the Joshua Project groups are in the Eastern hemisphere. This is why the Western hemisphere is not shown.
- On both April 2000 maps, when a dot from 1998 does not appear on the 2000 map it is because the group is no longer on the JP list e.g.. the group no longer meets the Joshua Project criteria. It is likely that the number of evangelicals or adherents has exceeded the Joshua Project critieria.
- On the April 2000, 100 or More Believers map, increase in Churches of 100 between the 1998 and 2000 map can be from either the establishment of new churches or new reporting of existing churches e.g. not all the new dots on the map are actually new churches of 100 established between 1998 and 2000.
